Senior Consultant

As a Senior Consultant, you are part of a group of individuals who have exhibited solid analytical skills, sound capabilities in team work and communication, and who have demonstrated a willingness to “do whatever it takes” for successful client projects.  You are now directing Associate Consultant and Consultant activities, as well as executing complex analysis and solving business problems.  You are interacting with and learning from Vice Presidents and Executive Vice Presidents on a regular basis.

Your peers may have graduated from the Associate Consultant and Consultant career path, or may be content experts who previously worked for financial service providers or other consulting firms.  Progression from this level is performance based and not necessarily tied to “time in role”, but could be in 2-4 years.

Typical Roles:
Senior consultants play a pivotal role in executing complex analyses on a variety of projects across the financial services industry.  They are expected to have mastery of commonly used analytical tools and techniques.  They are also expected to interact effectively with client personnel who are responsible for providing key data.

Senior Consultants are heavily involved in driving internal practice development initiatives, major research efforts and recruiting.  You are relied upon for taking the initiative and applying creativity, diligence and intellectual curiosity.

Success:
Success as a Senior Consultant is determined by your ability to begin to manage certain aspects of a project and related team members.  You are demonstrating an understanding of project roles and project management activities.  You are beginning to exhibit a depth of functional and/or industry knowledge and to take responsibility for helping with the professional development of more junior staff.
