As a senior consultant at CAST, I had the opportunity to work on a shared services creation project for a large insurance company.  Based on the good work of the team, we were asked to assist with the integration of a newly acquired company.  I had the opportunity to manage the new project due to the client's and CAST's confidence in my abilities.  So, as a senior consultant, I managed a project team consisting of a CAST vice president, senior consultant and consultant.  It was an uncommon situation but a great experience that I'm certain I would not have had elsewhere!

Spring Retreat isn’t just an event that positively impacts employees, the bond and friendship is extended to significant others and children.  It’s an event that’s frequently discussed in our household.

CAST recognizes the sacrifice that this business can place on a family. The ongoing recognition of family through Spring Retreat participation and holiday parties is sincerely appreciated. I like that my wife is as excited about CAST as I am!

I am amazed at how CAST is able to develop such a tight knit group of professionals.  CAST fosters this type of behavior by offering an annual Spring Retreat where everyone’s families get together and spend a week getting to know one another, and treating everyone within the Firm with the same level of generosity and respect.  This is evident by the fact that on any weekday at lunchtime you can walk into the CAST office and see almost everyone in the office eating lunch together in the conference room.  Rather than meeting other friends for lunch, or working through lunch, all members of the team find time to sit with one another and discuss both work and personal experiences.

The Associate Consultant Boot Camp is an intensive week long program that provides our junior level consultants with the basic tools they need to more quickly and better support the projects they are assigned to.  As a result, the project team has a more capable contributor early-on and spends less time on training and quality control.  We always knew we hired some of the best young minds for our associate program, but each and every new-hire experienced growing pains as they make the transition from graduating school to being in front of clients in a fast-paced, high-demand-for-quality, work environment.  You cannot turn even the smartest college graduate into a full-functioning consultant in a week, but you can provide them with the tools to facilitate their journey towards success.  Boot Camp eases their transition to CAST and sets the tone for their time as an associate by providing a consistent dissemination of information as well as exposure to various aspects and members of the firm.

CAST’s Spring Retreats are great!  It is one week each year when CAST’s entire professional staff gets together in great places like Hawaii and Whistler, BC to determine the firm’s long term strategy.   CAST extends an invitation to the consultants’ families as a way of recognizing the family’s sacrifices in dealing with the consulting lifestyle.  There are a lot of great group activities, and it is a time of tremendous team building and fun.

CAST truly believes that it is only as good as the generosity and kindness of its people.  The principals of CAST treat the staff of the company as if it were their own family.  That outlook is exemplified by the annual Spring Retreats to Hawaii where both spouses and children of the staff are invited.

As a recent college graduate, I was surprised at the level of commitment and time that CAST devotes to training it's young resources.  I was one of three new Associates to participate in CAST's "Associate Boot camp" or initial training.  It impressed me that over half the firm, including each of the eight partners, participated in the Boot camp .  These individuals did more that just stopping in to say hi, they actually conducted the training modules and lead question and answer sessions.

CAST’s commitment to its employee training is truly amazing. I spent my first two weeks at CAST in "Associate BootCamp." Nearly two thirds of the firm participated in "BootCamp" to train just three new associates. Even once we were out of "BootCamp" CAST continued to give us training modules to refine our skills.
