Volunteers of America: Los Angeles
From George Braunegg, EVP and founding Partner of CAST:
For the last 20 years or so I’ve been on the Board of Volunteers of America Los Angeles (http://www.voala.org). Over that period with family and work responsibilities I did little beyond what was required as a VOALA Director. Beginning last year I decided to cut back my work hours (I’ve not been all that successful in cutting back . . . this year my plan was to only work 3 days a week and year to date I’ve averaged 4) and dedicate my free time to various VOALA endeavors. This message is a part of that effort.
This is not an appeal for money! It is an appeal for your help to further what I consider to be some very worthwhile and in certain cases ground breaking initiatives by tapping into to your:
- Sphere of influence,
- Brain power and/or
I really would appreciate it if you would please take the time to review the attached vignettes. I know there is a lot to read but please take the time to do so. Each one outlines an initiative I’m actively involved with at Volunteers of America, Los Angeles. At the end of each is a list of ways you could help and/or things we need (I’ve summarized all those “Ways to Help/Things We Need” at the very end and titled “What We Need Summary”).
I’m absolutely certain that if you take the time to think about each of these initiatives you, or someone in your sphere of influence could help to address many of these and really make a difference. I’m hoping to gain the benefit of your creativity . . . your ingenuity and intelligence to address these needs. Maybe you have different solutions, or can point us in a direction we haven’t thought of before. Accordingly please e-mail me your suggestions and ideas to achieve our objectives and/or overcome obstacles. To share ideas or make a donation contact: me at George.Braunegg.email@example.com (Note: this is not my CAST e-mail address) or call me (213) 294-7713.
I know there is a lot read in what follows but I really hope you can find the time to review each of these and give them some real thought over the next few weeks. Please feel free to forward this message to any/all of your friends, business colleagues, etc. If you would like High Resolution copies of the following vignettes for printing to share with family / friends, post on a company’s bulletin board or in the coffee room, etc. let know and I’ll get them to you.
